Obituary of Nelson G. McMillen
Nelson G. "Mickey" McMillen, 84, of the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility passed away at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday (August 18, 2010) in the facility.
An area resident for most of his life he was born February 18, 1926 in Erie, PA a son of the late Lore and Anna Nelson McMillen.
He was a 1944 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
In earlier years he had attended the Bethel Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ira Lou Spring Post # 149 American Legion, where he was a past commander.
Before his retirement he was a machinist for Nelson Brothers Lumber Company where he worked for 25 years.
Surviving is a son Jon C. (Linda) McMillen of Falconer, six grandchildren Amber Ricotta of Falconer, Brian McMillen, Christopher McMillen both of Buffalo, Vanessa McMillen, Eric Randazzo, David Randazzo all of Stow, OH and five great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Patricia A. Brooks McMillen whom he married June 25, 1949 and who died November 8, 2001 and a son Greg McMillen who died in 1986.
A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan W. Anderson, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
