You were always the same person Monday through Saturday as you were on Sunday. I will always remember all the good times. Walks in the wood at Craven's Haven, all the advice through the years, your singing Christmas sock and of course the moments my serious Grandma turned into wild Bill!

Bill's mother, my Aunt Ida, was an important part of my life and who I am today -- her children were that extended family that only cousins whose mothers have remained close can understand. I rejoice that Bill is now with his mother and father and brother and sister. Family was all important to him. His children and wife will always have is presence and the love he had for each of them.

I had lost track of Bill and Bettye over the years, but remember fondly the Craven and VanSlyke families at First Baptist in Meadville. I remember Bill's smile and know that he will be greatly missed. Praise God that he is more alive now than he has ever been and we will join him at the Throne one day. Blessings to you all.

Uncle Bill always had a smile and a sly laugh for me, as well as a little gas money from time to time. He loved my mom and cared about her kids, keeping an eye and an ear out for us. I was always glad of a visit with him and Aunt Bettye; they made you feel valued. And of course there was nothing more delightful than serious Uncle Bill suddenly amused by memories of his own antics or those of his kid sister!
