Obituary of Robert L. Pierson

Robert L. Pierson, 82, formerly of 1677 Peck Settlement Road, died Saturday, September 19, 2010 at the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 28, 1928 in Conneaut, Ohio, one of nine children of the late Roscoe and Lillian Pier Pierson, and graduated from Cambridge Springs High School. In earlier years Bob had been employed by the Sherman Steam Mill, Chautauqua County Highway Dept. and Welch's. He then spent most of his life as a dairy farmer in Sherman and his Peck Settlement Road farm. Bob loved time with his family on the farm. In former years he had also enjoyed bowling and roller skating. He is survived by two daughters, Orrissa (Bob) Greenwald of Jamestown and Rhonda (John) DeLorenzo of Long Island; a son, Gregory (Debbie) Pierson of Frewsburg; six grandchildren: Melissa Buttafarro of Houston TX, Jeff Greenwald of Jamestown, Jesse and Amber Tellinghuisen of Long Island, Patrick Pierson of Estero, FL and Olivia (Doug ) Nelson of Frewsburg; two great-grandchildren, Tanaya and Cameron Tellinghuisen; and a brother, James Milford Pierson of Texas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Richard and John Pierson and four sisters, Mary Peters, Evelyn Peterson, Katherine Przondak and Dorothy O'Connell. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan W. Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
