Obituary of Diane J. Neckers

Diane J. Neckers, 80, of 805 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, Ashville, died Friday October 8, 2010 in WCA Hospital. She was born February 22, 1930, in Fredonia, NY, a daughter of Fertig and Ethel Rudd Heckathorn. Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma was loving and nurturing and took great pride in her family. Diane was a homemaker, enjoying cooking and baking. She enjoyed sewing crafts, and clothing for family and friends. She was also known for her sense of humor and was a friend to all--the coffee pot was always on. Surviving are four children Bruce (Martha) Ecker of Richmond, VA, Brett (Dody) Ecker of Watts Flats, Terri (Tim) Stahl of Watts Flats and Traci (Jimmy) Stoddard of Pittsfield, PA, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs. Kellerup, who raised her, her first husband Norman Ecker in 1969, her second husband Howard Neckers in 1991, two sisters Philinda McElheny and Audrey Falco and four brothers Norman, Fertig Jr., Cecil and Howard Heckathorn. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Warren VanDewark will officiate. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
