Obituary of Alfred E. Burch

Alfred E. Burch, 87, of 110 West Third St, formerly of 1758 Forest Ave Ext, died at 2:00 AM Thursday (October 14, 2010) in WCA Hospital. He was born September 30, 1923 in Leon, NY the son of Winferd and Nellie Cox Burch. Prior to retirement, Alfred was employed at Chase Interiors. Earlier he worked at Watson Mfg., Art Metal, and Sterlingworth Corp. He also volunteered at Meals on Wheels. Surviving are his wife, Sybil Odell Burch whom he married June 22, 1946; two step daughters, Janet Haight of Jamestown; Donna Graham of Kennedy; a step son, Dale Franklin of St. Charles, MO; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Elvira Annis, Agnes Frary, Georgia Traver, and Bulah Moore; seven brothers, Henry, Lyle, Fred, Leonard, Guy, Herbert, and Ward Burch. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
