Obituary of John Silvio Ronga
John Silvio Ronga, aka/Johnny Zane, 60, of Shell Beach, California, died at 8:45pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, doing what he loved, playing his music and singing his songs. He was born November 18, 1949 in Queens, New York, the son of Peter and Millie Ronga. He won the hearts of many through his music and sharing his soul. He was a professional musician, composer, singer, songwriter, and a poet. He was accomplished on the piano, drums, guitar, and numerous other instruments. He also wrote and performed music with his wife of 28 years, Dr. Nancy Hand-Ronga aka/Victrola. They have a local Television show, "The Johnny Zane and Victrola Show" that currently airs 3 times weekly. They also had a radio show for 2 years that aired live weekly from Hollywood, California. He was in numerous T.V. shows and movies, and a proud member of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG). From the red carpet at the "People's Choice Awards", to singing Christmas caroles with Pat Boone , to having Tony Bennet sing "I left my heart in San Francisco" directly to you as you hold one another. Each day was an adventure and full of love. He will be missed.
He is loved and survived by: His loving wife of 28 years, Dr. Nancy Hand-Ronga and his beloved cat, Flame. His loving parents, Mr.Peter Ronga and Mrs. Millie Ronga. His loving parents-in-law, Mr. Fred Hand and Mrs. Lynn Hand. His loving daughter Ms. Nicholette Carmela Hoffman Ronga. His loving brother, Mr. Peter Rizzuto, and his family. His loving aunts, uncles, and brothers/cousins: Uncle Santo and Aunt Jennie Caruso and cousins Richard, Paul, and Jim Caruso and their families. Aunt Jennie Carlino and cousins Chucky and Bobby Carlino, and their families. The late Uncle Joseph Caruso and cousins Dan, Ron, and Thomas Caruso, and their families, as well as cousins Madeline DeMarco, RoseAnn Samuelson, and Angel Rodriguez, and their families. Uncle Sam Caruso and cousins Samuel Caruso Jr. and MaryAnn Alpaugh, and their families. His brother-in-law, Dr. Terry Hand, and his family. His sister-in-law, Sheri Thomas, and her family. And his late grandmother-in-law, Mrs. Arlene Hand.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of the service Saturday in the funeral home.
