Obituary of Lloyd E. Nelson
Lloyd E. Nelson Jr., 61, of 9 Virginia Blvd., Kennedy, died at 5:50 a.m. Friday (October 22, 2010) in his home.
He was born in Jamestown on February 25, 1949, a son of the late Lloyd Nelson Sr. and Betty Warner Nelson Adams.
Lloyd was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War and receiving a Purple Heart.
In earlier years, he had been employed by the former Jamestown Lounge Co.
He was a member of the Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion, the VFW and the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Assoc.
Lloyd was a collector of many things.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Wynn Nelson, whom he married August 9, 2009; two daughters, Lauri Johnson of West Ellicott and Pam White of Clymer; two sons, Tim Bova of Perrysburg, NY and Kevin Martin; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Nelson of Lakewood; four brothers, Paul Nelson of Ashville, Kenny Nelson of Dunkirk, Rick Adams of Jamestown and Billy Adams of Oxford, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-father, Kenneth Adams.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
