Dear Mary and family, I'm speechless and don't know quite what to say. I'm holding all of you up in my prayers. I really respected Richard because he was a true example of what a Christian should be. He was a pillar in our community and he will be greatly missed. Perhaps God saw that and decided it was time for him to come home to his reward. May God's blessings comfort you and fill you with His peace.

Dear Mary and Family, While I don't think I ever met you, Dick and I were very close from Fletcher school, Lincoln and High shool. I like Sam Alessi was part of the "Myrtle Strre Gang) that had more fun than the average kids did even in our day. We had such a large group right in the area and we were out together all the time. Dick and I tried to use string and pulleys to rig up a system so we could pull a can from our houses so we would be able to talk to each other using tin cans. We thought it would work but as we were setting it up a car came down the main street Dick lived on, hit the string and the pulley flew into my sisters head. After she went to the emergency room at the hospital that was the end of our walkie talkie. After college I never got back to Jamestown often but my parents stayed there until 1975 when I retired from the Air Force. I considered Dick my best qand closest friend while growing up and I will never forget him. I read all the comments written by all the people who knew him in later life and it sounds just like the Dick I knew. Bless you and all the family and may he rest in peace.

Dear Mary and Family - Frewsburg pharmacy was my first job, and I was so fortunate to have an honest Christ loving employer like Dick. Such a wonderful example in my young life. He treated each customer like the they were the most important one, never to busy to listen or to give words of encouragement. He set the bar for my future employers, as I learned how an employee should be treated. You all have my prayers and deepest sympathies, I know how difficult this is for everyone. Much love ....

Well, Dick, you made a safe landing at the end of your life's voyage. Wait for me at the landing, for I'll be there soon. My prayers and sympathies are with you, Mary, in these difficult days as you complete the journey alone. Yet, you won't be alone. God's presence and memories of Dick will guide you, too, into the safe heavenly harbor to be reunited with your husband forevermore.

Dear Mary and family,
I think of all of you with tenderness and love. Having worked with Dick for 10 years my memories are so wonderful. I think of his love for his family, friends and precious Savior Jesus Christ. His passion was always someone else, especially one hurting and in need of prayer. May you all have the memories of a great man who loved life and his family and one who shared so graciously.

Dear Mary and family,
Dick and I grew up together, and were part of the "Myrtle Street Gang", so I have known him for over 70 years. We played baseball, kick the can and other games in the street and behind Fletcher school until our parents called us in - usually after dark. WE got back together in the Jaycees, and I once said to him that I would like to sell our house, buy a big sailboat, and sail around the world. He came a lot closer than I did to doing just that. My memories of him will be happy ones, as I am sure yours will be.
I was very sorry to learn of his death. Please know that our thoughts are with all of you in the coming days.
Sincerely,
Sam Alessi
