Julie Espersen was a dear friend that I knew from childhood. She lived with my grandmother, Ruth O Cunningham, a Detroit school music teacher for many years and moved back to Lake Chautauqua, at Jamestown after retirement and her father's death. She lived in the house on Espersen Point that had been built by her father. I will treasure her letters which I received every Christmas and birthday which were full of her observations about the surrounding community and the lake she loved. We visited her there a few years ago and I am so grateful that my wife Gina and sons, Tommy and Alec were able to meet her, and her, them. Julie will be missed. God speed Juliette!
