Obituary of Vernon R. Leet

Vernon R. Leet, 92, of 71 Jennie Lane, Warren, Pa, died Monday (December 6, 2010) in the Warren General Hospital. He was born October 11, 1918 in Jamestown the son of the late Carl and Mabel Holmes Leet. Vernon was a US Army Veteran serving with the occupation forces in Japan and in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Senior Accounts Manager at Rexnord in Philadelphia and Warren. Vernon was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Warren; Elks Lodge #223; Eagles Aerie #313 Lodge; Mount Moriah #145 F and AM; and Farrah Grotto. Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Niebank of Lakewood, NY; two granddaughters, Lorie Niebank (Leonard) Riedl of Cazenovia; Sarah Niebank (David) Hoffman of Batesville, IN; a great granddaughter, Murphy Riedl; a brother, Glenn (Tris) Leet; and a sister, Barbara Fox. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, C. Robert Leet; and a sister, Eugenia Arnold. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Warren, PA; or First Lutheran Church of Warren.
