Obituary of Michael DeAngelo
Michael DeAngelo, 83, of Jamestown, died Friday December 10, 2010, in WCA Hospital.
A native of Surfurnace, PA, he was born March 4, 1927, a son of Marion and Carrie Vetro D'Angelo.
He lived on Water Street in Jamestown in his younger years and worked for the city prior to co-founding, with his brother John, DeAngelo Construction. They successfully managed the company installing countless feet of concrete curb, sidewalk and driveway throughout Jamestown and the surrounding area.
Outside of work Mike enjoyed hunting and spending time with friends. But far and away his pride and joy was his family. He and his wife the former Lydia Restivo were married January 12, 1945 and focused the next 65 years together on building a loving, devoted family.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons Marion "Mike" (Sandy) DeAngelo of Hernando, FL and Frank DeAngelo of Jamestown; grandchildren Michael (Jennifer) DeAngelo of Rumford, RI, Mark (Renae) DeAngelo of Scotia, NY and Jonathan (Denise) DeAngelo of Jamestown; great grandchildren Laurynn, Lydia, Bella, Olivia, JonMichael, Siena and Luke and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Ada Giordano, two brothers Nicolas D'Angelo and John D'Angelo and daughter-in-law Brenda DeAngelo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. Rev. Darrell G. Duffy will be celebrant.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 3:30 p.m.
