Obituary of Frances C. Darling

Frances C. Darling, 92, died at 2:08 AM Saturday (December 11. 2010) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident most of her life, she was born April 3, 1918 in Warren, PA the daughter of the late James DuBois and Sarah Ann VanHorn Brundage. During WWII, Frances worked as a riveter at a Defense plant in Olean, NY. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano and organ since the age of 5, and she had a special love for her cats. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Darling of Jamestown; longtime friend, Arthur Palmer of Kiantone; and her nieces and nephews, Betty Lundberg, Joyce Cowan, Bob Darling, and Karlene Walker and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Darling whom she married February 19, 1944 and who died October 12, 1997; and 12 brothers and sisters. A private family memorial service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
