Obituary of Barbara K. Johnson

Barbara K. Johnson, 82, formerly of Bentley Ave. and Todd Ave., died at 8:10 am Monday (December 27, 2010) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born November 6, 1928 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Harry and Elnora Berg Johnson. Barbara was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She worked at various jobs, babysitting, working at the post office, and at a local factory. For 25 years, she worked in the Radiology Department at WCA Hospital, retiring in the 1980's. She was a member of the American Legion and Thule Lodge. Barbara loved animals, collecting antiques, reading, and traveling to Mexico and Florida to spend time with family. She is survived by a great nephew, H. Daniel Johnson IV of Clearwater, FL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jarvis Johnson and H. Daniel Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund, Heritage Group Chaplain will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the cemetery chapel. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
