Obituary of Priscilla J. Mason

Priscilla J. Mason, 87, of 2868 West Ave. Greenhurst, died Wednesday (January 5, 2011) in her home. An area resident since 1926, she was born January 6, 1923 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Horace and Dorothy Clark Zahn. Priscilla was a 1940 graduate of Celoron High School and attended the State University of New York at Fredonia. For 26 years, she and her husband owned the former Collins Sport Shop, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, and the Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion Auxiliary. Priscilla had a heart for people. She adored her family, friends, and church. She treasured her home and garden. One of her utmost pleasures was her time spent with her swimming group and luncheon friends. She will be missed for her loving support, unconditional love, brave attitude and her wonderful smile. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy J. (Daniel) Moseler of Hillsboro, OR; Mary K. (Kenneth) Corey of Jamestown; five grandchildren, James Moseler, Peter Moseler, Jean Brown, Kenneth Corey, Eric Corey, and eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger K. Mason whom she married August 28, 1943 and who died November 3, 2002; and a brother, Richard B. Zahn Sr. who died September 29, 2004. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Judith Berges will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
