Obituary of Ronald J. Brooks

Ronald J. Brooks, 76, of Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, died of kidney failure January 6, 2011, at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY. A lifetime area resident, he was born June 5, 1934, the son of John and Virginia (Pavlak) Brooks, in Dunkirk, NY where he grew up. He lived for almost 50 years on Empire Road in Forestville. Employment included New York Central Railroad, equipment operation and farm work. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and singing country music. Ron is survived by his daughters Deborah (Tom) Kozlowski of Porter Corners, NY; Lorie (Joe) Campese of Dickinson, TX; Becky (Mike) Frederickson of Busti, NY; Beverly Mullins of St. Petersburg, FL; Judy (Bob) Heintz of Lakewood, NY; one son, Ron (Cheri) Brooks Jr. of Peyton, CO; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Paul of Niagara Falls, NY; Roger (Karen) of Angola, NY; sisters Janet (Pete) Criscione of Dunkirk, NY; Wendy (Bob) Rodriguez of Dunkirk, NY; his maternal aunts Adele Graminski and Florence Pavlak. Ron was preceded in death by his brother Michael. No visitation will be observed. A memorial gathering will be held at the convenience of the family.
