Obituary of Carol Andree Gaeta
Carol Andree Gaeta, 71, of 353 Delaware Ave. went to be with the Lord at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday (February 2, 2011) in W.C.A. Hospital.
A lifelong area resident she was born June 10, 1939 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Lydle M. and Evelyn E. Baker Johnson.
She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and had previously been employed by the Cummins Engine Company, the Weber-Knapp Company and the Marlin Rockwell Corporation. Her very first job was working for Betty Dixon Candies.
Carol will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was also an accomplished artist. In earlier years she was active with the former Persell Elementary School PTA. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and loved her dog Buffy. Carol was an active volunteer and was named "Mother of the Year" for the local March of Dimes in 1963.
Surviving is her husband of 52 years, Salvatore C. Gaeta whom she married April 12, 1958, her four children Kathleen (Tim) Baker of Tully, NY, Kristine (Kevin) Stronz, David (Kelly) Gaeta all of Jamestown, Karen (Dennis) Arcangel of Norton, OH, 10 grandchildren Brent (Sarah) Carlson of Bemus Point, NY, Blake (Ashley) Carlson of Summerville, SC, Jason (Cassie) Stronz, Eric (Julie) Stronz, Brandon (Amanda) Carlson, Dylan Gaeta, Taige Gaeta, Drew Gaeta, Tristan Gaeta all of Jamestown, Alexandree Arcangel of Norton, OH, one great grandchild Rider Carlson and another great grandchild due this September, a sister Patricia A. Breen of Topsham, Maine and a brother Gerald L. (Diane) Johnson of Port Orange, FL.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved nephew Bradley Johnson
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. William Blair of the New Creation Assembly of God Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
