Obituary of Michael E. Stafford

Michael E. Stafford, 66, of 2832 Moon Road, died Monday February 7, 2011, in his home. He was born February 15, 1945 in Jamestown, a son of the late Wendel and Bobbetta Davis Stafford. He was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2010 due to ill health, he was employed by Bush Industries as a setup operator. He earlier had worked for Bigelow's Department Store. He was a former member of Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department and Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ. He was a benefactor member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving are his wife the former Anna Roddel, whom he married June 8, 1968, two sons Charles Stafford of Panama and Robert Stafford of Jamestown, a grandson Joshua Stafford of Jamestown and a brother Tim Stafford of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Jack Stafford. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ. Rev. Gilbert J. Pearson will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the church.
