Dear Karen, Sheryl & Pat & families, Unk was a wonderful man, I alwayes loved him. He used to pick on me as a little girl. He and Aunt Thelma called me "Tiny Tina" He always told me to eat my crust on my toast, it would put hair on my chest. I of course said I didn't want that so I wouldn't eat the crust. I used to help Aunt Thelma bake cookies at Christmas time and he was also a helper.
I moved away in 1977 to Eastern PA. I have been away for a lot of years, but when I was home visting my Mom and family, I tried to see Unk & Aunt Thelma too. I lost my Mom in 2003, now Unk is with her in Heaven. Love you all, Annie, Trish & Nick Kozlowski

Reading through the memories, it's very apparent that from the first time anybody met my Grandpa he was a positive influence in their life. He was always warm, welcoming, and willing to help with a smile on his face (and probably a funny joke in there as well).
I am very blessed to have his influence in my life and will continue to look to him for guidance. He was the type of man that made you want to be a better person; laugh more, complain less, and just enjoy every day that you have to spend with friends and family.
By living like he did we can also bring joy to all those around and keep Grandpa's memory alive forever.

From the first time I met Grandpa he made an impression on me. He welcomed me in as if I was a daughter of his. Every time I saw him when Boyd II and I visited it was like no time had passed. He enjoyed everyday and life to it's fullest. I feel so lucky to have had him in my life and for the dedication he made to his family. I will miss you very much but will never forget your smile and how you made a difference in everyone's lives that you touched.

My father was an extraordinary man. He may not have made headlines, he did not hold a political office, or be in a spot light. What he did was bring joy into this world through his unselfish caring and compassion he had for others. It was not important for him to have great things. It was important to be grateful for what he had, and to be able to share these things with others. I will surely miss him everyday. I will miss our conversations and traveling together. I will miss our shared love of adventure, and of course, football. I cannot feel sorry for myself because I was blessed by having Boyd as my father. Too many people I know never had a father figure in their lives. I hit the lottery with my father.
My father's positive influence will live on for years to come. I can see it in my nephews and neices, and my son's, relationship and guidance they are providing their children. They are displaying his qualities. He was a great role model for all of us. He was a great man.
I love you dad.
Patrick

I met John and Thelma many years ago when I was in my 20's. I am now in my 60's. They took pity on my husband and I who were a young couple (Me pregnant with child) and befriended us and became our dear friends and substitute parents. No matter where we moved after that we always kept in contact. John had visited me a few times down here in TN. I loved him with all my heart. He was the kindest, most gentle loving man I have ever met. Never a harsh word for anyone. I am blessed to have had him in my life. I tried to talk to him once a month. I will miss him, but I know he is with God and at peace.

I am blessed to have called Boyd Johnson my Grandpa. He was a humble role model to us all. He taught me what a husband, father, and grandfather should be. My Grandpa, along with my Grandma, always gave me a sense of stability. I didn't realize this gift until becoming and having the perspective of a mother. I will miss my Grandpa.
