Dear Mr. and Mrs. Swanson and Family - As the father of a Marine, veteran and friend I want to express my deepest condolences to each of you during this difficult season of loss. As I read today's Buffalo News article about Aaron's memorial service I couldn't help but think about our son Aaron, the countless service members who willing sacrifice so much, and the families who shoulder a burden that relatively few people in our Nation understand. I pray that you will take great solace in knowing that your caring and courageous son and brother is "present and accounted for" with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:8). If there's anything that I can do to help you bear the weight of your loss, please do not hesitate to contact me. The Marine Corps Prayer
Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of thy presence and obedient to thy will.
Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family. Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me the courage to proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Make me considerate to those committed to my leadership. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.
If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am temped, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.
Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer
Amen.

Aaron has been loved and respected with the utmost love and respect of which human souls are capable, and was taken from us ever too soon.
Yet, even as we agonize over the loss of this wonderful young man, we are a thousand times richer for his having crossed the paths of our lives, but, God knows, he will be forever painfully but lovingly missed.
Aaron, in the words of the poet Wordsworth, writing about the death of his son Thomas, "You are now like the wind; we cannot see you but…we will always feel you."

One of the hardest things is to loose a friend, but Aaron will not be forgotten. The first time I met Aaron was at my old youth center and from there on him and my friend Amanda would hang out at least once a week. We'd always go out to dinner at friendlys, thats were we shared the funniest stories about how are week and days went. We also would take late night drives to Mc Donalds and act like kids in a little kid restaurant, laughing and doing things 16 nd 17 year old kids wouldn't normally do. Loosing a close friend is hard, but the days will come easier and I will never forget all the fun and happy times we spent together. <3

Thank you, Aaron, for your service to our country. As a years-long friend of a retired Marine, I know that I'm very grateful to you in your decision to help us. Not only because I think our country shouldn't have to endure such matters to begin with, but because you actually wanted to be involved.
I also want to thank you for having known you as a co-worker. A good guy who helped out when needed, shared humor with me in the lighter side of things, and had an attitude toward life that resembled my own. Thanks again, guy.
With sympathy for the Swanson family.
Regards,
Patrick Fonti

As Jill Johnson's mom, & Step Dad, we had the pleasure of meeting Aaron, at T.J. and Jill's wedding. Aaron was a fine young man, and we sure appreciated all of his help during and after the wedding. Without asking, Aaron pitched in and did what ever needed to be done. He was one of the very last ones to leave from clean up after the reception. He will be greatly missed by many! Please know our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends at this time. Sincerely, Rhett and Pam McJunkin

Dear Swanson Family, We are sending you our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your beautiful and courageous boy. He is truly an American Hero, although that doesn't seem to make your loss any easier, I hope it helps to know that many other people are very proud of someone as young as Aaron who could be that incredibly brave! They say that time heals all wounds, but the loss of a child is so very hard! I too share those feelings as I lost my son Marine LCPL Timothy Serwinowski on June 21,2010 He was KIA in the Helmand Province also. We miss Tim so much, but all we can do is get through one day at a time and and some days are a little easier than others. Our thoughts are with you at this most difficult time of your lives and we will continue to think of you and your family. If ever you need anything please let us know, we are here for you! You have all of your wonderful memories of Aaron and no one can take those away from you! From one grieving family to another we send you Strength, Hope and Love. Sally Urban and Family

Aaron, words cannot describe just how kind of a person you are. When I was new at school and didn't know anyone, you never hesitated to befriend me. I was only there for the last 3 years of High School but I can easily say you were one of the friends I am glad I made. You understood all my jokes and knew how to male people smile. OH, and Thank you for sneaking all those Reese cups and Jolly Ranchers during class. But most importantly, thank you for serving our country. You made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
