Ward was one of the reasons I volunteered to go to Vietnam in the infantry. I felt it was my duty to go if my First Lutheran friend Ward had gone before me and had served in the infantry. Ward served in the Americal Division, one of the Divisions in the Nam with many firefights against the Viet Cong!

Dear Family,
Whether my brother, Dan Reid, knew Ward or not doesn't matter. They served in the 198th with some of America's best. My heartfelt sympathies are extended to you all. My brother was KIA in Vietnam in April '68. These men all deserve the highest regard. Ward is my hero. Thank you and yours for his service and sacrifices. God Bless America. God Bless you.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Mr. Westerberg was very good to my family over the past 4 years or so that we have known him. I don't know what I would have done without his kindness and helpfulness and that also of Connie Rounds.

Dear Sharon and family, We are so sad to hear about Ward's untimely death. Cousin Ward and Steve are about the same age and visited one another often as children growing up nearby. The last time we saw Ward and Sharon was in Kansas City about 3 years ago. What a fun time we had together. Ward was such a neat guy. Full of life. Great sense of humor. Smart. Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss. Love, Steve & Debbie Leslie

Sharon, I'm so saddened to learn of Wardie's passing. In the nearly forty years I knew him I was always in awe of his business and legal acumen. I always thought of him as a lawyer's lawyer; he was unbelievably smart and served his clients well. He was an inspiration to me and to many others and was just a wonderful wonderful man.
