Obituary of Emma Swan

Emma Arnone Swan, 90, formerly of 40 Sampson St. and Tanglewood Manor, died at 2:55 p.m. Monday (February 14, 2011) at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born in Jamestown on May 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Stella Boscarino Arnone. A 27 year employee of Proto Tool, she later worked as a caregiver for several area individuals. Emma was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and had been a volunteer for RSVP. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley (Andy) Scalise and son, Ronald Swan, both of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Gina Landy of Jamestown, Andrew Scalise III of Charlotte, NC, Todd Swan of Durham, NC and Timothy and Tage Swan, both of Jamestown; eight great-grandchildren: Stevie Landy, Karlee and Andrew Scalise, Justin, Ethan and Emily Swan, and Garrett and Ashlyn Swan; and two brothers, Charles and Paul Arnone of Jamestown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dominic, Anthony and Joseph Arnone. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry McCann will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
