Obituary of Richard L. Rickerson

Richard L. Rickerson, 73, formerly of Jamestown and Warren, PA, died at 3:40 am Wednesday (February 16, 2011). He was born April 18, 1937 in Warren, PA the son of the late Charles P. and Julia Stoddard Rickerson. Prior to retirement, Richard worked for over 30 years at Marlin Rockwell Corp. He enjoyed collecting and selling antiques at flea markets. Surviving are, three sons, Dennis Rickerson and Steven Rickerson, both of Jamestown; Scott (Lori) Rickerson of Westfield; a daughter, Julia Rickerson of Jamestown; three grandchildren, John Rickerson of Sheffield, PA; Carley and Jessi Rickerson both of Westfield; and a sister, Erma (Mark) Roberts of FL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Cummings Rickerson who died June 28, 1979; an infant son; two sisters, Laura Chapel; Jean Elsholz; five brothers, Edwin, Donald, Robert, Neal, and Charles Rickerson. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Major Richard Best from the Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home.
