Obituary of Gary L. Kephart

Gary L. Kephart, 64, of 49 Louisa Avenue, West Ellicott, died Sunday March 13, 2011, in WCA Hospital. He was born November 1, 1946, in Madera, PA, a son of the late Lawrence and Cora Lockett Kephart. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1967-87. He was employed by the US Postal Service working as a supervisor in the Jamestown office. He was a member of Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Madera, PA. He enjoyed the time he spent playing rhythm guitar and singing lead vocals for several area bands including most recently US Express. Surviving are five children James, Kenneth, Jon, Gary and Tammy, eight grandchildren and a sister Bernice Casper of Indiana, PA. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Kitty Woodley, whom he married September 27, 1969 and who died June 19, 2010, a granddaughter Daile Kephart, a sister Vera DeLattre and a brother Preston Kephart. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Hughes will officiate.
