Obituary of Antoinette Baglia

Antoinette M. Baglia, 86, formerly of 118 Connecticut Avenue, Jamestown, died Friday March 18, 2011, in Rae-Ann Westlake Skilled Nursing and Stroke Rehab Center, Westlake, Ohio. She was born June 29, 1924, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Leonard and Frances Napolitano Baglia. Antoinette was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She earned a Bachelor Degree in accounting graduating in 1951 from Benjamin Franklin University, Washington, DC. She lived over 40 years in Washington, DC and Silver Spring, MD. At the time of her retirement in 1988, Antoinette was administrative assistant to Chief Judge Wilson Cowen of the United States Court of Claims in Washington, DC and had earlier worked for Judge Reeves. In Jamestown, she was employed by Attorney Joseph Gerace and the Monitor Furniture Company. She was also an active communicant of St. John Roman Catholic Church. Antoinette loved her friends and family, especially her ten nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Gertrude Baglia DiCosimo of Cleveland, OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Vincent N. Baglia and Louis A. Baglia and her sister Lucy P. Baglia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Catholic Church. Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 1:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
