Obituary of William J. Hillman

Emery Cox, a.k.a. William J. Hillman, 82, of the Hotel Jamestown, died Thursday March 17, 2011, in his home. He was born December 24, 1928, in Montgomery, AL, a son of Emmett Randolph and Gussie Lee Cox. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in 1954. He had been employed by Comstock Food, South Dayton as a warehouse worker and earlier had worked as a truck driver. Surviving are several children including Robert Cox of Niagara Falls, Amy Groves of Kentucky and Rebecca Mothershed, Matthew Hillman and Michael Hillman all of Jamestown; nine grandchildren; Three brothers Henry (Irene) Cox, Sr. and Emmett (Helena) Cox, both of Niagara Falls, NY, and Terry Cox of Baltimore, MD and a sister Gussie Mae James of Niagara Falls. He was preceded in death by three brothers Tyree, Roy and Tommy Cox and three sisters Alma Cox, Emma Mae Rios and Cubie Lee Maryland. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
