Obituary of Robert C. Reist

Robert C. Reist, 84, of 1485 Forest Ave Ext. Jamestown, passed away peacefully Wednesday March 23, 2011 in his home. He was born April 20, 1926 in Warren, PA the son of the late Charles W. and Mina Stoddard Reist. Robert was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, and prior to retirement worked at Crescent Tool Co. He was a member of the Busti Fire Department, and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, and hunting. Surviving are a brother, Albert (Dorothy) Reist of Warren; three sisters, Mary Chapel, Barbara J. (Richard Sr.) Cook, Rose Reist, all of Warren; and several nieces and nephews including Richard (Barbara) Cook Jr. of Warren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sarah Slate Reist; and a brother, Richard Reist. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Busti Fire Department, 886 Mill Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
