Obituary of Anna C. Pease
Anna C. Pease, 88, formerly of 511 Front St. Jamestown, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday (March 26, 2011) in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born November 10, 1922 in Corry, PA the daughter of Adam and Catherine Mynarski Shumsky.
Anna was a graduate of Corry Area High School and was a United States Marine Corp. veteran being honorably discharged on January 18, 1946. For many years she was employed at Continental Baking in Buffalo, working at several locations in the Carolina's before retiring and returning to Jamestown in 1994. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood and Holy Apostles Parish Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Jamestown. She was a member of the American Legion and AARP. Anna will be remembered as a generous, loving, and caring individual with an unusual sense of humor. She enjoyed nature, gardening, traveling, and reading.
Surviving are a step daughter, Carol O. Bragg; two step granddaughters, Salli J. Bragg, Michelle L. Donivan; a step grandson, Mark L. Bragg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph E. Pease who died July 31, 1979; two brothers, Edward and Leon Shumsky; six sisters, Edna Potter, Faye Casper, Mary Boland, Eva Stromgren, Veronica Mole, and Elizabeth Dimas.
The funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home.
