Condolences to the family. I noticed Eugene smith was her brother. He was my First Communion partner in line. We were the very first couple because we were the shortest. I knew Jane then. Sorry for all your losses.

Working at Chautauqua Institution, I met Betty almost as soon as I arrived in the summer of 1998. She was a wonderful friend and mentor. Our visits were always full of fun and thoughtful conversations. God bless you and keep you Betty.
