Obituary of Hubert R. Trask

Hubert R. Trask, 67, of 476 Falconer St. in Jamestown, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at home. He was born May 4, 1943 in Warren, PA, one of nine children of the late Hubert N. and Marion White Trask, and was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School. A highly decorated Vietnam veteran, he served in the US Army from 1965 until his retirement from the service in 1993. His medals and decorations include two Bronze Stars, Army Achievement, Army Commendation and Joint Service Commendation medals, Vietnam Service medal and Valorous Unit Award. In his later years, Hubert greatly enjoyed Bingo. In addition to his son, Richard (Jessica) Trask and grandson, Gabriel Trask, surviving are three sisters, Carolyn (Tex) Knowlton, with whom he made his home, Alice Mencer of Jamestown and Orabelle Jewell of Ocala, FL; and a brother, Ralph (JoAnn) Trask of Spring Creek, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Neil and David Trask and a sister, Gertrude Esterline. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Soldier's Circle of Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
