Obituary of Truman L. Anderson

Truman L. Anderson, 70, of Lakeside Drive, Ashville, died Saturday April 16, 2011, in WCA Hospital. A native of Jamestown, he was born December 18, 1940, a son of Truman C. and Franka Lindsay Anderson. He was a veteran of the US Navy and worked at Yorktowne Industries and Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 1994. He was an avid fan of Nascar and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife the former Lillian Eckstrom, whom he married December 31, 1979, five children Laurie (Duncan) Oleshak of Lakewood, Kevin Dowd of Gastonia, NC, Roxanne (John) Carlson of Gerry, Ian Anderson of Ashville and Megen Anderson of Washington; a step daughter Rebecca Libby; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard Anderson and a sister Jane Briggs. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
