Obituary of Howard Culver

Howard Culver, 86, of 10 Stearns St. died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. He was born in Jamestown on March 25, 1925, a son of the late Clyde E. and Berdina Steinhoff Culver. Howard was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1943 to 1946. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Jamestown Metal Products for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lisciandro of Panama and Debbie Woodcock of Jamestown and two sons, Phillip Culver of Kentucky and William Culver of Jamestown; a step-son, Al Rasmussen; five grandchildren, Lenny and Lee Lisciandro, Amber Chamberlin and Scott and Tiffany Woodcock; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Culver of Sinclairville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce DeVlieger Culver and second wife, Alberta Rasmussen Culver, a brother, James Culver and a sister, Doris McDonald. No funeral service or visitation will be observed. Burial will be in the Gerry Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorials Center, 6725 Lyons St., E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
