Obituary of David W. Brawdy

David W. Brawdy, 63, of 1114 Lakeview Avenue, died Sunday May 8, 2011, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie. A Jamestown native, he was born September 19, 1947, a son of the late Vern and Katherine Olson Brawdy. He was a 1966 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Jamestown Metal Products for 35 years holding various positions including plant manager and earlier had worked for Falconer Plate Glass. He was a member of Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association and Celoron Moose Lodge. He was a former member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He loved the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife the former Nancy Foster, whom he married July 2, 1966; three children Shelley L. (Thomas) Tonkin, Mark D. (Tammy) Brawdy and Wendy (Mark) Marchincin, all of Jamestown; eight grandchildren Heather and Brandon Tonkin, Kayla, Christopher and Tailyn Brawdy and Colin, Tyler and Kiara Marchincin and a cousin Jerry Olson, who was like a brother. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
