Obituary of David G. Dibble

David G. Dibble, 67, of 103 Hunter St. Jamestown passed away Thursday (May 12, 2011) at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident he was born April 20, 1944 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Floyd A. and Virginia Elderkin Dibble. David was a 1962 graduate of Southwestern Central School. Before his retirement in 2006, he was employed in the Jamestown branch of R.E. Michel Company. In earlier years he had worked at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic School and the Marlin Rockwell Corporation. Surviving are his wife the former Maureen Hughes whom he married July 24, 1965, two daughters Jennifer (Tim) Whitmore, Stephanie (Rob) Stafford, two grandchildren Kayla Whitmore, Josh Stafford and a sister Dorothy Rudd all of Jamestown. Besides his father who died in 1987 and his mother who died in 1977, he was preceded in death by a twin brother Daniel Dibble and a sister Diane Dibble. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
