Obituary of Alvin M. Brownell

Alvin M. "Al" Brownell, 84, of 98 Howard Avenue, Jamestown, died Sunday May 15, 2011, in WCA Hospital. He was born September 10, 1926, the son of the late Harvey and Florence Morrison Brownell. Following his graduation from Warren High School in 1944, he served in the US Army Air Corps until 1946. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Allstate Insurance and earlier by Metropolitan Insurance Company as an insurance agent. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher. His other memberships include the Vikings and Free and Accepted Masons. Surviving are his wife the former Norma Brandell, whom he married October 11, 1947 and a daughter Karen Brownell of Portsmouth, NH. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Chapel of First Lutheran Church. Rev. Dan Nagel will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
