Obituary of Genevieve E. Krajewski

Genevieve E. Krajewski, 97, formerly of 107 Elam Avenue, Jamestown and Riverhead, Long Island, NY, died Sunday June 12, 2011, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A Jamestown resident since 2000, she was born January 20, 1914, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Fred and Mary Dohler Cronk. She attended Jamesport Schools System and worked for the Hazeltine Corporation, Riverhead. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a member of VanRensolaer-Skidmore Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Michigan Card Club, Riverhead. She was an avid Bingo player until age 97 and was known for her knitting of hats, booties and blankets for family and new born babies in the hospital. Surviving are two daughters Barbara Scesny of Hendersonville, NC and Kathryn (Greg) Raymond of Jamestown; five grandchildren Troy (Penny) Raymond of Cabot, AR, Shawn (Jill) Raymond of Frewsburg, Tracy (Doug) Grey of Jamestown, Jodi Crimmons of Destin, FL and Kevin (Heather) Raymond of Jamestown and nine great grandchildren James, John and Taylor Lynn Raymond of Cabot, Andrew and Bryce Raymond of Frewsburg, Hannah and Jackson Grey of Jamestown, Connor Crimmons of Destin and Brianna Raymond of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Krajewski, whom she married April 20, 1938 and who died April 19, 2006, two brothers William and James Cronk and two sisters Margaret Magee and Ella Brooks. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
