Obituary of June M. Carlson
June M. Carlson, 93, of Campbell Avenue, Jamestown, died Sunday June 19, 2011, at 5:15 a.m. in WCA Hospital.
A Jamestown resident most of her life, she was born June 1, 1918, the daughter of Charles A. and Hilma A. Lundmark Carlson.
She lived in Cleveland, OH in the early 1920s and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1936.
June was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and spent many happy years at Lafayette Corners Furniture Store.
She was a lifelong member of First Covenant Church and it's Hope Circle. She also belonged to the C.G. Club and was a former member of the PTA and the Mozart Club.
Throughout her life, June had a tremendous legacy of caring for others. The family is grateful to each individual who returned this gift of caring to her over the last several years.
Surviving are two sons Dr. H. Ronald (Nancy) Carlson of Lakewood and Timothy J. (Valien) Carlson of Bemus Point; four grandchildren Virginia A. (Brian) Cardwell of Ypsilanti, MI, Bradley L. (Jacqueline) Carlson and Elizabeth D. Carlson, both of Buffalo and Kristen R. Carlson of Naples, FL; four great grandchildren Robert, Eric and James Cardwell and Charlotte Elizabeth Carlson; in-laws Irving T. and Gloria A. Nelson of Jamestown as well as other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold C. Carlson, whom she married August 23, 1940 and who died August 27, 1995, and two brothers Charles Espey Carlson and Burton O. Carlson.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in First Covenant Church. Rev. Adam Rohler and Mr. David Larson will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
