Obituary of James K. Hunt

James K. Hunt, 71, died at 9:02 PM Wednesday (June 22, 2011) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born June 29, 1939 in Jamestown the son of the late Kenneth Guy and Pauline Claire Drake Hunt. Jim attended Southwestern Central High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. He had worked at the former Dahlstrom Mfg. Co; the former AVM Corp.; UPS, and was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. For many years, Jim was known as one of the areas better pool players and is seen in the photo holding one of the many trophies he had won. He would never pass up a game of 9 ball or a hand of hearts. He also loved cats, and will be missed by his family and many friends. Surviving are two daughters, Shelly Lynn Hunt, Patricia Lee Blanco; both of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Brittany Ruppert, Louis Blanco, Chelsey Hunt, and Cortney Hunt, all of Jamestown; a sister, Patricia (David) Anderson of Myrtle Beach, SC; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Ed) Lawson, Betsi Anderson, and Kristopher (Adrienne) Anderson, all of SC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randall J. Hunt who died August 16, 2007; and his cat, Peggy Sue. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
