Obituary of Gerald M. Lundeen
Rev. Gerald M. "Jerry" Lundeen, 82, of 1395 Newland Avenue, died Tuesday June 28, 2011, in his home.
A native of Jamestown, he was born April 8, 1929, a son of the late Eric and Marion Peterson Lundeen.
Graduated from Jamestown High Scholl in 1946, Bob Jones University in 1951 and Course of Study for Seminary in 1956, when he was ordained a reverend of the United Brethren Church, Erie Conference at Camp Findley September 1, 1956.
He was a clergyman for over 41 years serving United Brethren, Evangelical United Brethren and later United Methodist Churches mostly in Western Pennsylvania and Southwestern New York. Throughout the years he held various leadership positions in the denominational district and conference.
Music was a part of his life and ministry. He used his musical talents for his Lord Jesus by playing trombone, leading singing at revivals, singing with Baber Shop Choruses, Western Pennsylvania Minister's Male Chorus and Quartet, in church choirs and as a vocal soloist.
His leadership skills were also put to use civically as a member of the Rotary Club from 1970-79.
Surviving are his wife the former Ruth McGill, whom he married July 28, 1951; children Kevin (Michelle) Lundeen of Findley Lake and Karolanne (Gustavo) Pacheco of Qatar; grandchildren Luke Lundeen and Olivia Lundeen of Findley Lake and Leonidas Pacheco of Qatar; two brothers Donald (Dorothy) Lundeen of Florida and Phillip (Bonnie) Lundeen of Indiana; a son-in-law Keith Chase of Virginia and Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by daughter Karen Lundeen Chase and grandson Gustavo Lundeen Pacheco.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Rick LaDue will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service Friday in the church.
