Obituary of Arlene L. Larsen

Arlene L. Larsen, 79, of 400 Broadhead Avenue, died Tuesday June 28, 2011, in WCA Hospital surrounded by her family. An area resident all of her life, she was born October 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Cameron Harshman and Seena Lindahl Harshman Eckstrom. She graduated from Jamestown High School and had been employed by the former Crescent Tool Company. She was a wonderful mother grandmother and great grandmother who had a unique sense of humor and saw the good in every situation. She loved dogs and was an excellent cook. Surviving are seven children Kathleen Germond, Dennis Larsen and Debra (Tom) Kennedy, all of Jamestown, Kenneth (Joan) Larsen of Frewsburg, Karen (Phil) Allen, Cynthia (Ron Widrig) Chandler and Tom (Debbie) Larsen all of Jamestown; fifteen grandchildren Justin Germond of Amherst, NY, Ashleigh Germond of Delhi, NY, Jason Kennedy, Nikki (Darren) Thompson of North Carolina, Kelly (Matt) Drayer of Sinclairville, Tracy (Chad) Jespersen of Lander, PA, Kim (Brent) LaCross of Jamestown, Josh (Nicole) Allen of Kennedy, Leslie (Tim) Dole of Jamestown, Noah Allen of Jamestown, Chris (Wanda) Allen of Boston, NY, Jeffrey Chandler, Jr. of Aberdeen, NC, Jennifer Chandler of Hilton Head, SC and Thomas Larsen and Michael Larsen both of Jamestown; eight great grandchildren Tessa and Aidan Germond, Jacob Drayer, Dakota Truex, Riley LaCross, Elliot Jespersen and Carter and Quinn Dole; a brother Donovan (Marilyn) Harshman of Fort Myers, FL and her beloved dog Newbie. She was preceded in death by her parents, a step father Einar Eckstrom and her husband Kenneth L. Larsen, whom she married May 29, 1953 and who died July 17, 1971. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Myron M. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
