Obituary of Mary L. Peters

Mary Peters, 93, of The Dibert Home, 484 Fairmount Ave WE, formerly of Clearwater, FL, died Friday (July 8, 2011) in her home. She was born December 7, 1917 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Spiro and Athena Stoko Sarro. For many years, she and her husband Bill were in the restaurant business. They lived in Cleveland, OH, and after moving to Florida owned B & M Dairy Drive Inn located in Clearwater Beach. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and the Lady Erene Society in Jamestown. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater. Surviving are her nephew, Jeffrey (Sandra) Sarro; great nephews, Jason and Justin Sarro, all of Jamestown; nieces, Billie Tibbls of Akron, OH; Mary Brokas of Keystone Heights, FL; Norma O'Kelley of Jamestown; nephew Christopher (Georgia) Kotte; great nephew G. Cameron Kotte, all of Stow, OH; and many great great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Peters whom she married January 22, 1950 and who died August 26, 1999; two sisters, Tina Tasannis; Anna Deppas; a brother, George Sarro; and a sister in law Olive L. Sarro who died April 26, 2011. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. The Rev. George S. Zervos, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday.
