Obituary of Beverly R. Riddell

Beverly R. Riddell, 76, formerly of Route 380, South Stockton, died at 7:35 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing in Gerry. She was the widow of William H. Riddell, whom she married June 6, 1947 and who died April 16, 2004. An area resident all of her life, she was born April 17, 1935 in Portland, NY, a daughter of the late Will and Agnes Bragg. Beverly was employed for many years by WCA Hospital, retiring as a surgical aide in 1997. She was a member of the Fluvanna Community Church, where she had also been a Sunday school teacher. She loved reading and throughout the years enjoyed camping and collecting dolls. Surviving are four sons: Donald Riddell of Little Valley, Timothy Riddell of Tonawanda, Robert Riddell of Sinclairville and William H. Riddell Jr. of Perrysburg, NY; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Charles and Nicole; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Riddell; three sisters, Alberta Curtis, Gladys Johnson and Genevieve Klinko; and two brothers, Oliver "Pat" Bragg and Sonny Bragg. The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association WNY Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221.
