Obituary of Charles W. Moon

Charles W. Moon, 88, of 2787 West Ave. Greenhurst, NY, passed away at 11:47 a.m. Friday (July 22, 2011) in his home. An area resident for most of his life, he was born January 9, 1923 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late George J. and Nora Parsons Moon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II from January 14, 1943 to December 21, 1945. Charles spent many years in Florida where he was employed by the City of St. Petersburg as a bus driver. Surviving are a son Craig A. Moon of Brentwood, TN, two daughters Jennifer R. Moreau of Sauquoit, NY, Wendy J. Gustafson of Ocala, FL, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother George J. Moon, Jr. and a sister Ruth Witzleben. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Soldiers Circle of Lake View Cemetery.
