Obituary of Michael W. Lapinski

Dr. Michael W. Lapinski, 62, of 44 Grandview Avenue, Lakewood, died Monday July 25, 2011, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital. He was born December 4, 1948, in Trenton, NJ, a son of Michael and Vera Lapinski. Following graduation from Hopewell Valley Central School, he received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and a medical degree from College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ. After completing his residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, he and his wife relocated to the Jamestown area where he was employed as a pathologist by WCA Hospital from 1978-2000 and Warren General Hospital from 1978 to the present. While serving Warren General Hospital he was also Medical Lab Director. His hobbies are varied and include nature photography, Ham radio, model railroading and oil painting. Surviving besides his father of Loxahatchee, FL are his wife Dr. Frances Lapinski, whom he married December 26, 1971, a brother Kevin Lapinski and his wife Gay of Loxahatchee and a sister Vera Beltrante and her husband John and son Christopher of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his mother. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Womack will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 Thursday and Friday and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
