Obituary of Clifton C. Stratton

Clifton C. Stratton, 82, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of 689 Panama-Bear Lake Road, Panama, died Monday (July 25, 2011) in Arizona. He was born July 26, 1928 in Ashville, the son of Laverne and Bernice Simmons Stratton. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the New York State Department of Conservation. He was a member of the Panama United Methodist Church; the Panama Volunteer Fire Department; and the Niobe Grange. Surviving are a son, Rodney (Julie) Stratton of Gilbert, AZ; and two grandchildren, Christina (Andrew) Schafer, and Ryan (Bridy) Stratton, both of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Osborne Stratton whom he married May 26, 1951 and who died August 22, 2008; two brothers, Harry and Edgar Stratton; and a sister, Margaret Reed. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Steven Taylor, pastor of Panama United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Niobe. The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 PM Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Panama Volunteer Fire Department.
