Obituary of Martha M. Glace

Martha M. Glace, 87, of 131 Howard St., died at 6:37 a.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 in WCA Hospital. She was the wife of Guy J. Glace, whom she married June 16, 1948. Martha was born December 16, 1923 in Grand Valley, PA, a daughter of the late John and Lucille Van Guilder Sterling, and graduated from Townville High School in Townville, PA. A homemaker, she enjoyed collecting recipes throughout the years. In addition to her husband, surviving is a son, James (Connie) Glace of Jamestown; two granddaughters, Nicole (Brian) Talley of Ft. Mill, SC and Cassandra Glace of Jamestown; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Talley; and a sister, Helen Ongley of Jamestown. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Michael Lennon will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. James or to St. James Church, 27 Allen St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
