Obituary of Hazel M. Parker

Hazel M. Parker, 83, formerly of Tanglewood Manor and the Hotel Jamestown, died Friday (August 19, 2011) in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born April 4, 1928 in Warren, PA the daughter of the late Guy E. and Blanche Allen Parker. Hazel was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed babies and children, especially all her grandchildren. Hazel loved crocheting, crafts, and country music. While at Tanglewood, she participated in their choir and bellringers. Surviving are four sisters, Jean Vitello, Marie Westerlund, Gertrude (Alton) Field, and Patty Bennett; her son in law, Steve Wilcox; two grandchildren, Michael Wilcox and Christina Wilcox; many great grandchildren, especially Frankie and Shelby Wilcox who were very special to her; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemarie Wilcox; a granddaughter, Amanda Wilcox; and two sisters, Betty Mathews and Grace Parker. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Hillcrest Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry McCann, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
