Obituary of Phyllis A. Proestler

Phyllis A. "Penny" Proestler, 67, formerly of 225 Prospect St. Jamestown, died Thursday August 18, 2011 in the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehab Facility, Kingsville, OH. She was born May 19, 1944 in Warren, PA the daughter of the late Alfred and Mildred Tingwall Jaynes. She was a graduate of Warren High School and attended Nurses training in Carlisle, PA. She also studied computer programming at Jamestown Business College. She began her nursing career at Warren General Hospital, and then worked at New Process in Warren. For 30 years she worked at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, and retired from Jones Memorial Health Center in Jamestown after five years. Penny was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and camping. Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Boyd and LeeAnn Proestler, both of Frewsburg; Brenda Ann Proestler Hicks of Falconer; a son, Bill Neal of Ashtabula, OH; eight grandchildren, John, Heather, Josh, Patrick, Skylar, Dakota, Jordan, and Jayden; and five great grandchildren, Caden, John Jr., Ariel, Brooklyn, and Bentley. Also surviving are Ernest Neal of Erie, PA; and Richard Proestler of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Romaine and William Tingwall who were very special to her. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
