Obituary of Sandra K. James
Sandra K. James, 69, of 2191 5th Avenue, Lakewood, NY and Leesburg, FL, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Monday (August 22, 2011) in W.C.A. Hospital.
A lifelong area resident she was born December 1, 1941 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Burton E. and Charlotte E. Tranmer Williams.
She was a graduate of Mayville Central School
Before her retirement, she was an Administrative Assistant most of her life working with Lawyer's and Physician's. The last 12 years she had worked at the Resource Center.
She was a member of the Watts Flats United Methodist Church where she served as Secretary for many years. She also served as Secretary for the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, the love of her life, Clyde C. James whom she married June 15, 1983, a son James M. (Laura) Smith, Jr. of Lakewood, NY, four step children Randall C. (Amy) James of Corry, PA, Cindra L. (Mark) Thompson of Kennedy, NY, Kris C. James of Jamestown, NY Tina M. (James) Adams of Ashville, NY, four grandchildren Nicole M. Smith of Jamestown, Natasha L. Smith, Aaron J. Smith, Ty Andrew Smith all of Lakewood, two great grandchildren Colten A. Myers, Alyssa Nicole Henry both of Jamestown, ten step-grandchildren Kristie (Andrew) Greenstein of Lakewood, Roderick (Adrienne) Gillis of Tucson, AZ, Jamie (Michael) Kruger of Pen Argyl, PA, Leanne Watson, Jason James both of Franklin, PA, Ashley (Brandon) Randolph, Andrew James both of Jamestown, Jonathan James of Columbus, OH, Caylea Adams of Ashville, Valerie Thompson of Kennedy, nine step great grandchildren Zachary, Colin and Spencer Greenstein, Ashlyn Zoey Gillis, Bryce and Brodie Kruger, Shayne Watson, Cameron and Lucas Randolph and her sister Helenrae L. Galbraith of Jamestown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son Timothy B. Smith who died December 29, 1967.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Warren VanDewark, pastor of the Watts Flats United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
