Especially to Barb and Tracy and her family...I know that this is a heartfelt loss for all of your family. Rog was a prime example of what Jesus asks of us: to be salt and light to corner of the world we are placed in. May God bless his memory and inspire all of you to follow in His example. Grace and peace, Dan

I only met Rev. Healey once and that was when he presided over my own father's funeral last December. I thought it extraordinary he toke the time to do this since it was a slippery, cold winter day and he had his own health issues but when I talked to him about about it he was more than happy to do it; "honered" was the way he put it. Roger put our family at ease that day, he had a simple service (which is what my dad would have wanted). I believe my father met him when Roger lived in Panama and one time had trouble with his telephone. My dad was a serviceman with the telephone company and was called to fix it. They were both outdoor types, hunting and fishing favorite topics and got along very well. In the short time I had a chance to talk to him he was very caring and genuinely concerned about making our day less stressful. Roger was someone you could easily talk to and I called him a few times in the months thereafter to see how he was doing. He didn't dwell on his situation very long, but was actually much more concerned about how I was doing. He was an extraordinary gentleman. Please find comfort and peace in knowing what a kind man he was and that he made many peoples lives more whole for knowing him.

I Love You Dad.
When the time comes that I see you again in heaven we will have that boat ride and a special tee time in heaven. I will miss you but I know you are with God now and I will see you again some day. No more pain. You showed us just how strong you are in the past few weeks. I think you gave me that strength.
On Sept 18th, your birthday, I will run that marathon for you. When it seems really hard I will think of you and keep going until the finish, just like you did.
Until we meet again, I will practice up for that golf game. I am sure you will being in heaven mowing the most beatiful golf course there is and enjoying every minute. I love you Dad Thank you for the times we had together. Your Daughter Kim

Roger was a dear friend of my father, David Hegedus. During my father's ten year battle with brain and spinal tumors, Roger not only brought my father closer to the Lord, but did what he could in helping my father physically and mentally deal with is illness. From taking my father to the doctor, to visiting him several times a week, Roger's caring ways made him a dear friend to my father until the day my dad passed. Because of his kind and gentle ways, Roger was a friend to me as well. God Bless you and your family Roger.
