Obituary of Elaine M. Stolpe

Elaine M. Stolpe, 82, formerly of Tanglewood Manor, 560 Fairmount Ave. W.E., Jamestown passed away at 3:45 a.m. Thursday (September 1, 2011) in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident she was born February 3, 1929 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Carl Gustav and Esther Ruth Johnson Wallgren. In earlier years she was a seamstress for the former Fashion Clothes in downtown Jamestown and had also worked for the former Jamestown General Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Surviving are two sister in laws, J. Marguerite Wallgren of Lakewood, NY, Charleene Wallgren of Jamestown, NY, and her nieces and nephews, Barbara (Gary) Dodge of Ft. Meyers, FL, Elaine (Phil) Caflisch of Lakewood, NY, Marsha (Steven) Cole of Jamestown, Bruce (Laurie) Wallgren of Virginia Beach, VA, and David Wallgren of Jamestown, also survived by several great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Darwin P. Stolpe who died January 24, 1961, two brothers Leonard G. Wallgren, Sr., Hilmer N. Wallgren, an infant son Darwin Phillip Stolpe and a nephew Leonard G. (Chip) Wallgren, Jr. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg, NY.
